NRA Instructor: Personal Protection In The Home
Two-part instructor certification course that prepares candidates to teach the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course. Part one covers basic instructor training. Part two covers discipline-specific training for personal protection instruction including defensive shooting skills, home safety strategies, legal considerations, and scenario-based teaching. Includes practical teaching exercises and a certification examination. Upon completion, instructors are certified to teach the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home student course.
Prerequisites
Must be a currently certified NRA Pistol Instructor. Must complete a pre-course questionnaire and assessment exercises.
Restrictions
Requires current NRA Certified Pistol Instructor credential. Instructor certification courses are not open to general students.
What to Bring
Handgun, 200 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, holster, cleaning kit.
